The FM50 is part of the latest generation of Avon CBRN full face mask, specifically designed to meet the latest NATO forces military mask requirements.
  • It has been developed to counter the multiple CBRN threats encountered in modern warfare, anti-terrorist and peace-keeping operations.
  • The twin filter conformal system sits close against the face, providing the wearer with high protection and very low breathing resistance. Twin filters also make it a much more comfortable mask to wear and also allows greater ease of weapon deployment.

FM53, The multiple mission mask.

  • Avon Protection's revolutionary FM53 multi-role Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) System has been developed specifically for specialist applications where the user needs to respond to ever changing operational conditions.
  • The FM53 is globally acclaimed as the most technically advanced mask and offers both positive pressure SCBA, PAPR and negative pressure APR/capability. All of these capabilities are available from one mask platform without the need to change components. Available in right, left or twin port filter configurations.
  • The FM53 system was developed to address the multiple threats encountered on the modern battlefield, war on terrorism and peace keeping operations. It provides protection against traditional chemical and biological warfare agents and select toxic industrial materials (TIMs).
FM54, Maximum Protection, Total Flexibility
  • The Avon fire hardened FM54 Air Purifying Respirator provides Specialist Operators maximum level of protection to the face, eyes and respiratory tract from Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN), Riot Agents, Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICS) and Toxic Industrial Materials while maintaining extreme user flexibility as mission profiles change.
  • The FM54 functions in both negative and positive pressure modes (APR, SCBA, CCBA and PAPR). The enhanced, robust lever located on the VREU (Variable Resistance Exhalation Unit), switches mode from positive to negative pressure without removal of optional VPU (Voice Projection Unit) or loss of protection.

  • The design and development by Avon of the M50 mask has resulted in the most advanced general service respiratory protection mask to date, offering significant improvement in comfort, usability, operational effectiveness and protection.
  • A revolutionary cast flexible visor offers wide, optically correct vision together with being impact and scratch resistant.
  • Close fitting, curved conformal filters offer improved weight distribution and reduced breathing resistance, as well as enhanced protection against toxic industrial agents. An integrated Electronic Communication Port allows for an internal microphone for communication systems. In addition, a high flow hydration connection enables quick and easy fluid intake.
M53, One Mask, All Missions
  • The M53, part of the next generation 50 series of respirators, features a new patented twin exhalation valve providing the capability to use the mask with all recognised forms of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
  • The M53 will function as a conventional negative pressure mask as well as with a range of SCBA and PAPR.
  • The M53 is based on the M50 mask Avon Protection is supplying to meet the US Government Joint Services General Purpose Mask (JSGPM) requirement for all four US military forces.
  • The M53 has been developed to meet the specific requirements of Special Operations Units to protect against the multiple threats encountered in modern war fighting and peacekeeping operations.
The in-vehicle respiratory system
  • The FM51 is a variation of the latest generation Avon FM50 mask but designed specifically for combat vehicle operators by enabling vehicle respiratory and communications system integration.
  • Supported with a CVC hood for head and neck protection and a communications lead and hose to integrate with the vehicle’s blower and COLPRO systems, the FM51 provides the same outstanding protection from battlefield concentrations of CB agents, toxic industrial materials, chemicals and particulates.
  • The FM51 offers vehicle operators clear communications while wearing a mask; and an integrated Electronic Communications Port allows for direct connection to the vehicle’s radio system though low profile communications lead.
  • Twin filters reduce breathing resistance and Avon’s advanced hose assembly provides direct interface with the vehicle’s air supply with a quick release connection for rapid exit.

  • The FM12 mask, initially developed for NATO operations, has already become the most widely adopted respirator across the world by numerous military and law enforcement organizations.
  • Its unique blend of features makes it the ideal solution for those responding to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction, as well as for the full range of military operations.
  • Its low profile is ideally suited to tactical situations where sighting of weapons or integration with other equipment is required. The lightweight face piece of the CBRN FM12 is designed to provide a high level of wearer comfort combined with very low breathing resistance.

Breathing Made Easier
  • Avon EZAirTM is the newest generation of single filter airflow system, substantially smaller and lighter than traditional powered air units. Avon EZAir also provides the power source for all configurations of the AvonAir range. Five years of research and development have resulted in the first CBRN air-system that delivers the benefits of a traditional Powered Air Device in a more compact and integrated system.
  • Modular methodology allows users to add Avon EZAir to existing fielded systems such as the 50 Series APR’s and convert into a two filter PAPR system for increased performance.
  • Avon ‘s EZAir continuous fresh airflow helps relieve the burden of heavy breathing enabling responders to easily communicate and reduce fatigue.
  • With fewer parts, Avon EZAir operational costs are up to 70% less than traditional airflow systems resulting in the lowest cost of ownership.
  • Avon Protection introduces a new generation of CBRN Powered Air Purifying Respirator, the Avon MP-PAPR™ system. A departure from traditional rigid plastic construction systems, the Avon MP-PAPR is the world’s first flexible PAPR unit, constructed from the same field proven Chlorobutyl rubber, as used for the Avon 50 series masks range.
  • The Avon MP-PAPR module delivers a compact and easily integrated PAPR unit providing cooling, lower user burden and reduced pulmonary stress.

  • The Avon CS-PAPR™ is the newest generation of CBRN Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) designed for use in Combination Unit Respirators. The capability to change levels of protection dependent on the threat, now provides the wearer with increased duration on target and safer operation.
  • Utilizing the Avon MP-PAPR module along with the patented combination hose module, the wearer can seamlessly switch between APR, PAPR and SCBA modes of protection. The single air hose connection for all modes allows the wearer to retain a clear mask cheeks for optimum weapon sighting.

The total respiratory protection system
  • The ST53 combines Avon Protection's FM53 mask technology with an advanced modular breathing apparatus to provide positive pressure SCBA and/or PAPR capability for specialist operations.
  • Developed with the unknown elements of a threat scenario in mind, the ST53™ is the most advanced CBRN respiratory solution on the market. It enables a fast response to changing operational conditions in one complete modular system.
  • A switch between negative (filter) and positive (SCBA) pressure is achieved at the flick of a lever on the front of the mask. And by attaching a short or long duration compressed air cylinder, it is possible to enter a location on filter mode, assess the situation and change to SCBA mode if the need arises.

  • Developed to deliver the same ruggedness and reliability that we put into all our respiratory products, Deltair has been tested to a variety of NFPA, NIOSH, and Mil Spec standards to ensure it meets and exceeds the tough demands required by the fire service.
  • Deltair is NFPA 1981, 1982, 2013 Edition Standard compliant and is approved for use in a CBRN environment. The Deltair has design requirements that exceed the requirements of NFPA 1981. We asked firefighters far and wide what they needed and wanted in a SCBA. Their input was the catalyst for the design and development of this completely new platform.

  • The MCM100 is a deep diving (100m CE rated), air and mixed gas, electronic control rebreather. Designed to be compatible with Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Mine Countermeasures (MCM) diving operations.
  • The system was initially developed, in collaboration with the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), to deliver a new long endurance, depth capable rebreather. In addition to this requirement, the Avon Protection MCM100 development has led to the production of a multi-role, electronically control rebreather capable of integrating with a range of military diving applications primarily focused at MCM and EOD operations.
Advanced platform dive computer
  • Since the introduction of it’s first datalogging air dive computer in the late 1980’s through to the world’s first mixed gas decompression algorithms, Avon Underwater Systems (and its predecessors) have been at the forefront of diving computer designs and decompression physiology.
  • Through our ties with Academia and the military we continue to pioneer decompression thinking. Probabilistic decompression modelling, advanced data handling and communication systems are also core elements of our expertise, paving the way for the life support monitoring systems of the future.
